Unrestricted vs Flex Bookings at PARennial Golf: What's the Difference?
Flex and unrestricted both work for advance bookings, but unrestricted is more versatile because it also works for same-day bookings.
What Flex Bookings Are
Flex bookings are the booking hours the system uses first when you plan ahead.
- You get 2 flex hours per week.
- Flex applies to future-day bookings.
- Each week gets a fresh flex balance every Monday.
- That applies to future weeks too, so planning ahead lets you use flex across the calendar.
What Unrestricted Bookings Are
Unrestricted bookings are your monthly booking allowance.
- They are tracked across your billing cycle, not by week.
- They can be used for future bookings just like flex.
- They are also used for same-day bookings.
- They are more versatile because they work for both planned and same-day bookings.
At a minimum, members start with 4 unrestricted hours. Over a typical 4-week billing cycle, your 2 flex hours per week add up to 8 flex hours, which means the starting booking value is 12 total hours. As your membership tenure grows, your unrestricted balance can grow too.
How To Get the Most Value From Both
- Plan ahead whenever you can.
- For future bookings, the system will use that week's flex first if it is available.
- If you are booking for today, expect the booking to use unrestricted.
- Check your balance in the app before confirming your booking.
Why the System Works This Way
The two buckets exist to keep bookings fair and predictable. They encourage members to plan ahead, prevent members from locking up huge blocks of time, reduce too many same-day schedule changes, and help preserve walk-in availability. The goal is not to make booking harder. The goal is to keep the system stable while still giving members flexibility.
Quick Recap
- Plan ahead and the system will use flex first whenever flex is available
- Unrestricted also works for booking ahead, and for same-day bookings
- 2 flex hours per week adds up to 8 flex hours over a typical 4-week cycle
- Add the starting 4 unrestricted hours and that is 12 total booking hours to start
