How It Works
Everything you need to know about the PARennial Cup competition system.
The PARennial Cup
The PARennial Cup is a year-long golf competition league exclusive to PARennial Golf members. Compete in stroke play and match play tournaments, earn points for your finishes, climb the season standings, and win PARennial Rewards.
Each season runs for a full calendar year and includes a series of tournaments across four categories, culminating in playoffs for the top-ranked players.
Seasons
A season is the overarching container for a year of competition. Each season progresses through three phases:
Active
Regular season tournaments are scheduled and played. Points accumulate on the standings leaderboard.
Playoffs
Top-ranked players (above the playoff cutoff) compete in playoff tournaments for bonus points.
Completed
The season champion is crowned. Final standings and prize distributions are locked.
When you register for a season, you are automatically entered into all qualifying stroke play tournaments. Match play tournaments require separate qualification.
Tournaments
Tournaments come in four categories, each with a different points multiplier:
Regular season events forming the backbone of the schedule.
Premium events with elevated competition and higher stakes.
The most prestigious tournaments of the season.
End-of-season tournaments for top-ranked players only.
Tournaments can be either stroke play (individual scoring over 1-2 rounds) or match play (head-to-head bracket elimination).
Scoring
Three scoring formats are used across tournaments:
| Format | Description | Best Score |
|---|---|---|
| Net | Gross strokes minus handicap allowance. Levels the playing field. | Lowest net total |
| Gross | Raw strokes with no handicap adjustment. Pure skill. | Lowest gross total |
| Stableford | Points-based: earn more points for better scores on each hole. | Highest point total |
Points & Standings
Finishing a tournament earns you standings points based on your position. Higher finishes earn more points, and the category multiplier amplifies the total. For example, winning a Major (1.5x) earns 50% more points than winning a Standard event.
Points accumulate across the season. The player with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the PARennial Cup Champion.
Tiebreakers use countback: number of 1st-place finishes, then 2nd-place finishes, and so on.
The Money List
Each tournament has a prize pool denominated in PARennial Points (PP). Prize earnings are distributed to top finishers based on the points distribution table. Your total season earnings are tracked on the Money List leaderboard.
PARennial Points can be redeemed for credits toward bookings, sessions, and other PARennial Golf services.
Match Play
Match play tournaments use a single-elimination bracket format. Players are seeded by their season standings ranking and play head-to-head 18-hole matches.
Each hole is a separate contest. The player with the lower net score wins the hole. Win more holes than your opponent to advance. Results are displayed in golf notation (e.g., "3&2" means 3 holes up with 2 to play).
If the match is tied after 18 holes (all square), it goes to sudden death or is manually resolved. Byes are awarded to higher seeds when the bracket is not a perfect power of 2.
Prizes
Every tournament has a PARennial Points prize pool. Top finishers receive a share of the pool based on their finishing position. Season-long prizes are awarded to the overall Cup champion and top Money List earners.
